Because there are many web-based clients available and innovation in this area never stops, Griffid has designed a new module which enables web-based video without having to use external components.

The video presentation from the Griffid Webserver is supported by a large number of browsers and works with a wide range of operating systems such as Linux, Apple, Windows and Windows Mobile.

There is also support for virtually all modern mobile devices. Including the iPhone, Windows Mobile devices and other modern smart phones such as Nokia, etc.

Partly due to this development, Griffid has chosen to replace the product Wireless Station with  this module. Wireless Station is no longer available from 2009 and is no longer supported.

For this new Griffid Webserver module, an  upgrade is required for your Griffid server, your mobile device is intended only to make a connection with this Griffid server.

Depending on the available bandwidth of the chosen network, you can virtually see live presentation on your mobile device. Using movable cameras, operating circuits and receiving event information is also possible. The Griffid Webserver has all generic functionality as presented within the regular Griffid Client. This means that the presentation of recorded images, creating snapshots and the temporary freezing of the images is also available with the Griffid Webserver.

In the future Griffid will continuously extend these functionalities so that more and more functions will come available for this web interface.

Griffid Webserver module for webdesigners
As a web designer you will be stunned using this web interface, because all functionalities are very easy to use in your website. This web interface can communicate directly with the Griffid Server, all records of users and the provision of rights can be done the same way. This means that you can create user accounts and determine which cameras certain users can use and also which functionalities they can use, like for instance viewing recorded images.

An addition to this Webserver module is the "Griffid Streamer module" which can make a RTSP stream available, for instance, Microsoft Media ®. This streamer can multicast as unicast stream. The available video stream of a camera can be transformed real-time in terms of size and compression technique using the build-in Griffid Recoder. This means that the video stream can be of each format, such as MJPEG, H264 and MPEG4. In the near future, you can determine the output of this streamer to any compression technology you want.

At this moment the stream is limited to MPEG4. This offers a wide range of additional opportunities for various applications, such as to narrowcasting, subscriber television and all other forms where image distribution is desirable.

Griffid is also convinced that this Webserver functionality is a good replacement for the Griffid Portal concept.
