A fully digital video surveillance system contains the following building blocks:

• Network cameras or video servers
• A network infrastructure (LAN/WAN)
• Server or workstation with hard disks for video storage
• Video Management Software

An optimized design of these building blocks will result in a flexible solution that often utilizes existing networks and equipment.
In combination with these building blocks the Griffid software form a digital complete video surveillance system that has more flexibility and security than strictly traditional video monitoring systems.
